Donald J. Trump To Receive The HollyRod Humanitarian Award
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 15, 2010) –Actress, author, philanthropist, and Season 3 Celebrity Apprentice all-time record setting fundraiser, Holly Robinson Peete, alongside her husband, retired NFL quarterback and author, Rodney Peete will host the 12th annual DesignCare benefitting the HollyRod Foundation. The foundation has been raising funds since 1999 to provide support for those living with Parkinson’s disease and Autism. The event will be held at Ron Burkle’s Green Acres Estate in Beverly Hills. Burkle is a long-time supporter of the HollyRod Foundation.
Saturday, July 24th marks the day for the glamorous event featuring a performance by multi-Platinum Grammy Award winning artist Robin Thicke, and will also feature a runway show by world renowned designer-to-the-stars, Naeem Khan, with an insight to his 2010 Fall line. The main event of the night, however, will be presentations of the HollyRod Angel on the Path, HollyRod Media Hero, and the HollyRod Founder’s Award honoring those that have provided tremendous support for Parkinson’s and autism. Honorees this year include Carly Fleischmann, Winfred Cooper, Emmy Nominated Emily Gerson-Saines (HBO’s “Temple Grandin”), Tom Murray (Showtime’s “Dad’s In Heaven With Nixon”), Chaz Dean (Celeb Hair Stylist), Elaine Hall, Diane Isaacs, Dr. Mark Lew and Wanda Milton.
Robin Thicke will entertain the invited guests for the night with his unique and soulful voice which has won him awards such as the 2007 Soul Train Award for “Best R&B/ Soul Album, Male” and the 2007 VH1 Soul/VIBE Awards for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year”. Not only has Thicke been known for his own recording success but he has written and produced a number of Grammy award winning albums such as “Confessions” by Usher, “The Carter III” by Lil Wayne and Jennifer Hudson’s self-titled debut album.
Naeem Khan, an Indian born American designer has been known for his intricately designed red carpet gowns worn by some of the biggest celebrities such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, just to name a few. First Lady,Michelle Obama, was noted in the press in 2009 for wearing a “priceless” gold strapless gown to the Administration’s First State Dinner designed by the one and only, Naeem Khan.
